When we go to a fast food restaurant and order their apples instead of fries but still get the juicy quarter pound cheese burger, one has to ask- why are you getting the apples, isn't the burger just as bad? I love to hear my friends go from one fast food establishment to another and whine about gaining weight, hello? So why do we do this, yes I am guilty too.
All too often hear, "I don't need that, or I don't have to eat, or there's a vitamin for that", as if popping a pill will magically give them all the vitamins and minerals their bodies need. Please don't be fooled, a vitamin or a "vegetable in a pill" can only supplement your nutrients it can not and will not give you body all the nutrients it needs. Real fruits and vegetables have natural enzymes that even the best manufactures can not replicate.
Getting your food fast is certainly a benefit when you are in a hurry but it really isn't the main reason we go to the fast food restaurants . Typically these kinds of places offering you food quicker than a sit down restaurant also offer food with more preservatives and fats, due to the needed extra shelf life, and products bought in bulk. In our mind we don't choose, "Hey I feel like a big, fat, greasy burger today", but our taste buds do remember that delicious burger because our taste buds are triggered by fatty foods; ever try a fat free Oreo, or fat free ice cream, the taste just isn't the same and does not leave us craving for more "fat free".
Your body knows when you are eating "real" food- because your stomach goes to work digesting these healthy foods and your body absorbs the healthy nutrients , all the while you mind is also being replenished with fuel; if however your fat, tasty, just look and smell good foods then you are not giving your body anything to work with and your body does not know what to do with all that fat; in most cases instead of trying to process "fake" foods, it just adheres to your fat cells and even with the best exercise this kind of fat will not come off the body.
Maybe you are a skinny minnie, maybe your not, this isn't really about your size or losing weight this is about how body feels. Are you tired, do you have skin blemishes or rough spots, are you feeling stressed out, is there any aches or pains? It's not just happen stance that you are not feeling your healthiest; Take a good look at your food choices, you may discover that although fast food tastes good and saves you time but overall is it worth it if its ruining your health?
