Getting Through The HCG Diet Plateau

The HCG diet is a popular way to lose weight these days. It contains three phases and in the second phase you can lose weight every day until you reach your goal. While on this program you might hit a snag that is known as the HCG diet plateau, and your weight loss may stop. When this happens, do not panic. These useful tips and ideas may help you solve the problem.

Diet plateaus are not uncommon and most people face them when they attempt to lose weight. Your body may simply be adjusting to a new way of life. Many people notice that they have stopped losing weight, and this can sometime last for five to six days. It is possible that your body will make its own adjustments and you will not have to do anything but exercise patience.

If your weight loss has stopped try drinking more water all through the day. When you increase the amount of moisture in your system you make it easier to digest and eliminate your meals. Your body needs enough moisture to properly function. You may get results if you take some high fiber products along with your meals. This will increase the amount of bowel movements.

Your weight loss may have stopped due to subtle changes in your plan. Check to see if you are adhering to the original program. Look to see how many carbohydrate calories you are consuming every day. Try eliminating lean red meat and eat more vegetables. This approach may solve your problems.

Many people find relief from an HCG diet plateau with apples. Make sure to check your weight each day and when you notice no loss, eat only apples for the next day. This means that you should be eating about six apples total. However, you may need to eat seven or eight if they are small apples.

With the apple strategy, make sure to drink enough water to get by, but no more. This is supposed to move things through your system and get rid of excess water buildup. You may lose as much as two pounds on the next day, with this tactic.

You might be following the plan too closely and eating the same foods all the time. Try changing what you eat and see if it makes a difference. You also need to check your calorie totals and not eat too few calories daily. You should be taking in at least five hundred or more calories every day to stay away from the HCG diet plateau.
