The goal of the hypothyroid diet is to optimize metabolism. And the best way to jumpstart your metabolism everyday is with breakfast. If you're currently not eating breakfast, start!

Most foods and drinks consumed in the morning affect the function of the thyroid gland. Having a real meal that is healthy as opposed to just taking tea or coffee is crucial when one is suffering from this disorder.

A healthy hypothyroid diet is important as it helps in speeding up the metabolism process in the body. The best way to boost your metabolism is by having a healthy meal each morning.

In case you are one of those people who skip and see no value in this first meal of the day yet you suffer from this disorder then it is very important that you start taking it.

A healthy breakfast meal should consist of carbohydrate, vitamins, protein and fat. Minerals like selenium and iodine should also be included in your nutritional plan.

A balanced diet should consist of vitamins, fats, protein, carbohydrates and other minerals which should be eaten in the same proportion.

If you're like most people you live a busy life and you don't have the time to sit down and eat a big breakfast, even though you should. One of the quickest and most nutritious breakfasts is a fruit smoothie.

Smoothies are great because they're loaded with vitamins, minerals, fiber, antioxidants, fat, protein, and carbohydrates. Smoothies are super-nutritious, or at least they should be. This is why they work great within the hypothyroid diet.

Iodine is a mineral that helps in creating thyroid hormones hence the need to eat fruits and food with it.

Don't add fruit juice. Don't forget to add fat and protein. Don't use goitrogenic fruits/veggies (food sources that inhibit the absorption of iodine). Don't add too many high glycemic fruits (fruits high in sugar).

Creating a great smoothie just takes some practice. Here's an example of one of my favorites.

Eating right is one way of reducing the symptoms and signs of this condition it also ensure that metabolism is boosted in your body hence easy and quick absorption of food in the body.

You can substitute blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries for strawberries because strawberries are considered a goitrogen. Berries are great because they're low in sugar and loaded with antioxidants.

Some patients have other conditions that may not allow them to consume some minerals like iodine in large quantities.

The avocado provides good fat and fiber, this will keep you full. However, you can use coconut or coconut oil, or another source of fat.

Finally, the whey provides the protein, but you can get protein from vegetarian protein powders, just avoid soy, it's not good for your thyroid.

Take your medication with water instead of juice for it to work properly. Do not include soybeans in your meals as it slows up the function of your medication.

However it is important to note that just because one is suffering from this condition does not mean that they have to watch the calories they consume or go on low fat diets.

There you have it, the perfect breakfast and a staple of the hypothyroid diet.

The patient should have a proper hypothyroid diet breakfast as it is good for the body.
